Far from being "pie in the sky" - this is a far more logical approach.

An appropriate quote, I feel, from Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz -
"The supreme wisdom, united to a goodness that is no less infinite, cannot have chosen but the best...So it may be said that if this were not the best of all possible worlds, God would not have created any."

It highlights the rather arrogant faith we have in our ability to control ourselves and the environment - intentions and outcomes being evaluated by our sense of pride rather than humility or even logic.

It challenges our myopic conviction when we encounter "an accident" - a metal body, hurtling through space towards a solid object - such as a tree or a brick wall.
No scientist would call the result "an accident." It's perfect.

Fortunately, although the existing model of universal harmony might appear to have been modified, somewhat, it is far from being obsolete - in fact - had we the eyes to see - we'd see it staggering away, dusting itself off - at each one of the car crashes we've left throughout history.

Thank you Lucy, for another fascinating and most relevant post.

Dear lucy, I like your post and the idea of looking at the world around us as perfect. You hit the nail.
Sometimes a picture can lead us back again into our center and you did that. Thank you.

BTW where did you get the red carpet widget? I was looking for it at sezwho, but I didn't find it.
