Whatever we want, we want it because we believe it will make us happy or happier. But, let’s just pause for a moment and examine some of our fundamental assumptions, beliefs. Let’s also get in touch with some fundamental truths. Let’s do this using the following imaginary conversation:
Imagine having the following conversation with someone you’re meeting for the first time, a ’stranger’, if you like:
Stranger (S): And you are…?
You (Y): The son/daughter of god
S: Excuse me???!!!
Y: I am a child of the divine.
S: I see…uh..well..what is your name?
Y: Do you? Do you see that I am a child of the divine, just as you are? As for my name, I am, in truth, nameless, but for your convenience, I am Mark/Mary…(say your name)
S: Oh well, I suppose we are all ultimately from the same source…
Y: And how does that affect you? How does that realization affect you on a daily, moment-to-moment basis?
S: It doesn’t.
Y: Too bad!
Too bad indeed! Whether we call it god or Brahman, or the Source, or Allah or Ultimate Reality, Pure Consciousness or the Nameless, we are, each one of us, of the very same infinite, unsurpassable, limitless, creative, powerful force of life. How consciously aware, are we of this? And if we are not, how are we living our lives? From what state of consciousness are we thinking, feeling, speaking, hearing, acting?
All that you want is already all that you are. There is nothing outside you because you are of the same, ultimate all! Examine this for yourself. Search yourself to see where you ‘begin’ and where you ‘end’. You don’t! But go through the exercise and experience it for yourself.
Blessings!
