Hi Joe, thanks for your comment. I'm glad that you found the post useful.

If you click on the tab 'Posts' on the top left of this page, you'll see a list of my posts. Perhaps you'll find some of these useful.

As for a 'title' for this sort of writing/philosophy, I'm not sure if there is one that specifically describes it. However, you might search under the topics of Freedom and Decision-making, Self-empowerment and Decision-making, Self-awareness and Decision-making.

Let me know if you can't find what you want and I'll see if I can make other suggestions.

Hello lucy i connected perfectly with what you said in your post. I have actually been feeling that the past couple of days, it was just an idea i heard someone throw around one time and it finally made sense the otherday when i really thought about it. My friend said something like " man dont hesitate to make a decision! if you want something than take it. if you want to sit down, than sit down! if you want to grab the pillow and get more comfortable than do it! stop spending your time just contemplating wether its worth it or not and just take it if you want it or dont."

the other day what he said fianlly made sense to me and i tried doing some research online and had no luck for a while until i found you! i have been trying to incorporating this lifestyle the past couple of days and it really has made my overall mood much better. i find things are just more interesting when im behind the wheel driving my life.

anyways i was just wondering if there was anymore information on this subject. i would very much like to read more. do you know if there is some type of title to this philosophy/lifestyle?

thanks,
Joe

I have been reading your posts for the last couple of hours, and it all has been very informative and well written. I did want to let you know that for some reason this post doesn't seem to work in Internet Explorer. On a side note, I was wondering if you wanted to swap blogroll links? I hope to hear from you soon!

Larry, how lovely to hear/read from you! Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of wisdom, of, as you say, something so obvious. Indeed, the quality of the present-moment mind is sharp, clear and free. And while I believe that the purpose of my life is most freely and fully executed through my mindful presence, there is also the purpose of my life that is fueled by my dreams and my desires, for these too are events of, and for, my existence. To be mindfully present to these events enables my awareness to continue to expand!

There is a video by Eckhart Tolle called, Finding your life's purpose. In that video he simply states the obvious, although most people don't think like this. In any event he took a sip of water and said my life's purpose, right now, is to take a sip of water. He went on to say that most people as they are reaching for the glass already want the water inside of them. Instead of stating to yourself, now I am reaching for the glass, now I will raise the glass to my lips, now the water is in my mouth, and now the water is going down my throat, etc. To be aware and present in every moment is key. When your presence is engaged in every moment then the quality and concentration of your doing is immeasurable. I've done this at times and it does have a certain quality that heightens your awareness. As usual Lucy thank you for your wisdom and insight.

Hi Juno, thank you for your comment. It's great that your experience with conscious visualization has been so rewarding. I tend to think that our ability to visualize (or anything else for that matter) is largely governed by our beliefs. As your Henry Ford quote so rightly suggests, if you believe you can visualize, you certainly will. That said, people may indeed have their preferences - visual, auditory, kinaesthetic etc. I have found that people who claim they are unable to visualize, however, are quite capable of visualizing quite spontaneously fearful situations whether from the past or as dreaded projections into the future :).
